ABSTRACT
Main subject of this study is legislation process of “Trade Unions Act” no. 274 and “Collective Labour Agreement, Strike and Lock-out Act” no. 275 within provision of the “Turkish Constitution of 1961” that secure collective bargaining autonomy and right to strike. Evaluations in the literature on the legislation process of these laws were reevaluated in the light of discussions in the parliament and senate. It is seen that the initial impetus for legislation of these laws that pave the way of unionization is the concern of legitimacy of coup plotters. Besides, it is seen that quantitative enlargement of working class and union demands that increase especially after 1950s have an influence on the focus of coup plotters on the union rights.
