Abstract

This study focuses on the evolution of ‘education’ that acts as a catalyzator of progress, in the neoliberalism process and the evaluation of current situation with basic parameters in Turkey. Accordingly, the main purpose of this study is examination of educational system, educational process and educational problems in Tukey in the neoliberalism process within the frame of schooling rate, school, student, teacher and classroom numbers, allocated budget shares for education in GSMH and basic education problems. The data of this examination is obtained from the official statistics published by Republic of Turkey Ministry of National Education Strategy Development Directorate. In consequence of this study, almost all of the educational indicators in Turkey progress positively especially over the last 15 years, however, comparing with developed western countries, we determined that it includes significant inadequacies.
